IRC - Human Rights Advocacy through Media and Theater Funded by NED

The Interactive Resource Centre (IRC), in collaboration with NED, has been training youth and civil society activists in community-based documentary filmmaking, citizen journalism, the use of visual arts for advocacy of fundamental Human Rights and Equal Citizenship. IRC seeks to raise public awareness about the values of human rights and democracy.

Project Objectives:

  • Building the capacity of youth opinion leaders in storytelling and advocacy tools for the promotion of fundamental human rights and equal citizenship.
  • Cultivating community spaces that foster right based critical thinking, tolerant attitudes.
  • Facilitating the creation of narratives in support of human rights, democracy, and tolerance through citizen journalism, theater, visual arts, and digital storytelling

 

IRC has been achieving these objectives through the Interactive Theatre Workshops/Networks, creating content for raising awareness on Maati TV, organizing digital storytelling camps/workshops, MAATI Mela,  Community Leadership and Advocacy Workshops, visual arts campaign and mega social media campaigns.
