Digital CVE storytelling in Karachi’s Universities 2022
IRC and Maati tv trained 80 students from Karachi university, Benazir Bhutto shaheed university and NED university. They were given
virtual workshops and training on peacebuilding and digital storytelling by the directors of interactive resource centre and Maati tv. The
students deconstructed the definition of peace and expressed it in their own unique ways in the scripts. The students produced 16 films
on interfaith harmony, peacebuilding and tolerance under the Karachi storytelling network with the help and guidance of IRC and Maati
tv. For the production of films, the participants were provided with media kits and technical assistance.
Gender Sensitive Police Training- Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs- 2016
IRC in collaboration with Europe International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs organised a 6 day “gender sensitive” police training to sensitise police personnel on 7 pro-women laws through the use of interactive/forum theatre and video testimonies.
Trocaire/NED- Bonded Labor Campaign- 2012
This project was initiated in collaboration with Trocaire which aimed at the eradication of bonded labour in brick kilns and the agricultural sector in Punjab and Sindh. Awareness methods such as theatre, documentaries, video testimonies e.t.c were applied to propagate the very message. In 2012 this campaign also focused on the implementation of the bonded labor abolition act. The orientation of lawyers regarding this law with the assistance of Dr Ali Qazalbash was also an integral part of this campaign.A total of 34 video documentaries were produced by maati.tv. In order to further effectively combat this problem a play by IRC was performed at the UCC Dublin University inorder to highlight the issue at a global level.
